Annual Conference 2016:Securing the Forests, Land, and Soils for All
23rd and 24th November 2016
India International Centre, Multipurpose Hall, New Delhi

Dear Sir/Ma'am,

Greetings from the Club of Rome-India!

The Indian National Association for the Club of Rome is organizing an Annual Conference 2016 commencing from 23rd and 24th November 2016.

We would like to invite your presence to be a part of the Conference and join us for various plenary sessions and open house discussions on the theme of :

"Securing the Forests, Land, and Soils for All - Coherence in policies and actions for healthy ecosystems".

The conference focuses on systemic solutions, particularly by resolving conflicts among different sectoral policies.

It is only in the last decade or so that there has been a growing recognition of the relevance and validity of the Club of Rome's original theses, that economic development is urgently needed for eradicating poverty and creating a fair and just society, but it must follow pathways that recognize planetary boundaries if societies, companies, and people are to hope for a reasonably prosperous, long-term future. Today, because of its continued commitment to promoting systemic, long-term solutions, the Club of Rome is increasingly being called on by global statesmen, international agencies, governments, parliamentarians, corporations and others to provide advice on emerging issues of global and national importance. The Club of Rome is registered in India as The Indian National Association for the Club of Rome.

You will be pleased to know that, today, Club of Rome - India serves as a unique, active forum for innovative thinking on the systemic linkages needed for promoting sustainable innovation, effective management of land, soils, water, energy and waste—to present to the nation's policy makers effective models for creating environmentally sound and equitable, economic development.

Human impact on Earth's Ecosystems is dominated by the heavy footprints of industrialization and urbanization. With increasing population, exploitation of mother earth, clearing of forests, intensive chemical based agriculture, which deteriorate the quality of land, eventually impacted on water and food availability. Thus, the Club of Rome—India has chosen to address the issues systematically through its annual conferences mainly on Food, Water, Ecosystems- Forests, Land and Soils, Energy and livelihood.
