Omnipresent Nature of Data & How it Influences Us? Over 5 billion people in the world are using the Internet for little less than 7 hours a day on an average . People connect to the internet for a wide variety of purposes, be it access to information, communication, entertainment, shopping , healthcare, education, skilling, jobs, travel, tourism, finance , banking and also working from home as well as looking for jobs. These interactions generate huge amounts of data per minute. Recommendations, suggestions, pricing,  special offerings, all use data in a big way. Availability of cloud computing, coupled with data science and AI making it possible to analyse this data in real time and generate insights. These insights are increasingly used by digital platforms to influence our lives in many ways. It helps in enhancing user experience, customer satisfaction , offering personalised services to users. Data and its influence is becoming so pervasive and often we do not even realise how it's changing our thought process, influencing our opinion and so on. How do we conduct ourselves online to keep ourselves safe and free from biases?
