International Workshop on Village Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modelling: Application in Agricultural Research and Development Studies

Venue & Organizer: Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR), Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Dates: 3-10 November 2014

Goal and Learning Objectives:
This training workshop plans to enhance the analytical capacity of young researchers in using analytical tools and techniques of SAM and CGE and their applications in Agricultural and Rural Development sectors. The specific objectives are to:
a) Provide basic knowledge and hands-on training to researchers on application of theory and tools of input-output model, Village SAM and CGE models.
b) Enhance capacity of researchers in South Asia to do better policy research and impact assessment using village SAM and CGE models
c) Hands-on training in construction of village SAM and CGE models.
d) Evaluate direct, indirect and economy wide impacts of agricultural R&D and policy interventions, including quantifying their distributional and multiplier impacts.

Travel Reimbursement Available for Participants from South Asian Countries. Last date for receiving application at GIDR: September 30, 2014.
