Indo-Swiss Workshop on Research Integrity in the Age of AI | 10 October, New Delhi

Indo-Swiss Workshop: 'Research Integrity in the Age of AI'
When:  Friday, October 10, 2025, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Where: New Delhi, India
About the Workshop: Academics, policymakers, publishers, and research institutions from India and Switzerland can register to participate in a workshop that explores what research integrity means in an era of rapid AI development. Swissnex in India, along with Frontiers and the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS), is organising the Responsibility and Trust in the Age of AI workshop that will delve into how institutions, funders and publishers can uphold ethical standards in research; how AI affects publishing ethics, language accessibility and democratisation of research; and how cross-national collaboration can improve research practices and trust in science. Research integrity underpins the trust, credibility, and advancement of science. Without confidence in the research process and its outcomes, science cannot fulfil its potential to benefit society, drive prosperity, or protect the planet. The various stakeholders of research, as stewards of knowledge, are collectively accountable for safeguarding the ethical conduct of research. Integrity involves more than just data accuracy; it reflects the trustworthiness of the entire scientific enterprise. Addressing these responsibilities cannot happen in silos and the complexity of modern research requires collaborative engagement across borders and sectors. Transparent communication, shared best practices, and commitment to high standards are essential for sustaining public trust in science. At the same time, technological progress, particularly in data and AI, introduces powerful tools, but also raises important ethical questions. AI, in particular, holds promise for innovation while simultaneously posing significant challenges to research integrity. This workshop will bring together stakeholders from Switzerland and India to explore their roles in promoting responsible research. The idea is to spark dialogue, mutual learning and potential partnerships. A key outcome will be a white paper offering recommendations for stakeholders in both countries and potentially informing global efforts to strengthen research integrity.
