PROMOTING ENGAGEMENT ISSUE |
|
This month's newsletter, all of our newsletters really, answer the question "what is IFLA?" by taking a curated deep dive into our most recent activities, updates and initiatives. While IFLA's work is based on its Strategy, the engagement we harness and cultivate, in all its forms, has been both a driver and a goal since the beginning of the Federation.
Our 100th anniversary is approaching, so as you explore our current work, we also invite you to look at IFLA through a new collection as we dial the clock back, and back even further to where and how it all began. Happy reading! 🤝

Towards a common understanding of documentary heritage |
|
Members of IFLA's Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage (CCH) joined colleagues from across the southern African region in Cape Town, South Africa to investigate a more inclusive definition of documentary heritage.
The goal is to prioritise the perspectives of the global south, which have historically been marginalised in international dialogues, to review the definitions and understandings of documentary heritage—and ultimately, how libraries preserve and provide access to knowledge and recorded memory. |
